Dr. Maureen Allen, Medical Consultant

Dr. Allen is an Emergency Room and Palliative Care Physician based out of St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish as well as Guysborough Antigonish Straight Health Authority. Her vast experience includes areas such as Trauma, Mental Health and Addiction, Pain and Chronic Pain Management and Palliative Care. Dr. Allen holds a Bachelors in Nursing, Bachelor of Medical Science and received her Medical Doctorate in 1985 from Memorial University. Since then, Maureen has contributed research and publications related to end of life pain management as well as treatment of addiction. Dr. Allen is a member of the Atlantic Mentorship Network and is also a Chronic Pain Consultant in Antigonish.

Lillian Berry, Pharmacist Consultant

Lillian joined the NSPMP in the role of pharmacist consultant in 2018. In addition to her experience working as a community pharmacist, Lillian has worked as a Pharmacy Inspector with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists, and as an Academic Detailer with the Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine, Continuing Professional Development team. Lillian is an experienced communicator who has worked with a range of stakeholders to translate knowledge into practice and improve health outcomes in Nova Scotia.
